From Diversity and Inclusion to IDEA

Concordis is committed to opening the workplace to everyone and, in particular, to place traditionally marginalized and underserved candidates in good jobs. We have adopted the acronym IDEA to help clarify our work moving forward:

Inclusion – making certain that once people are given opportunities that they are continuously supported and encouraged to perform at their highest potential and are part of the culture of the company.
Diversity – changing the traditional roster of companies. Concordis knows that there needs to be concerted effort to shift the makeup of its workforce and senior leadership. Diversity encompasses the range of similarities and differences each individual brings to the workplace, including but not limited to national origin, language, race, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, veteran status, and family structures.
Equity – striving to make sure our employees are being paid fairly for equal work. We also provide our employees the same benefits for like work, and make sure they always have as much information as we are able to share.
Access – making sure people have a way to get in the door is as important as having everyone in the room. This means we are committed to helping individuals and organizations who support increasing access to traditionally closed fields. Equity Machine Works , Northeastern University’s Align program, and TEALS are a few relationships we currently have.

Concordis understands that IDEA can only benefit the workplace. It brings new people to the table, their ideas and perspectives can be championed, and ultimately makes for a healthier work life. Our mission to provide radical transparency extends to sharing our statistics around IDEA. We recognize there is still work to do on our part.

Collaborating for Equity: Technology thrives on new, diverse and unexpected ideas. The Align Master’s of Computer Science program at Khoury College welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and provides a bridge program to prepare people with no prior programming experience for our graduate programs. Concordis is proud to help place graduates in new opportunites.
